In 2008, the International Cultural Center of HGM was declared a full member of ACCR, the European Network of Cultural Centers in Historical Monuments, so the theme of this year's symposium/workshop was the joint project of all the networked centers under the title FINDING THE LANDSCAPE, with an emphasis on complete openness and absolute freedom of its expression and multidisciplinarity, or rather postdisciplinarity as a basic prerequisite for its realization.

At first glance, the topic emphasized practical work, which was preceded by an inspiring and intensive theoretical introduction, and Grožnjan, with its amazing surroundings, proved to be an ideal environment not only for discovering more than the obvious connections of the contemporary natural and artificial landscape, but also the often hidden sensations of physical and other realities and information technologies in the creation of a new multisensory environment.

Guest lectures were given by art historian Iva Körbler and Richard Edwards, architect and publicist from Paris, coordinator of the project 'INVENTING THE LANDSCAPE: Presence and future of the landscape within and around the historic monuments (nature, garden, cloister, park, site, belvedere) ; Towards the definition of a typology of relationship between the monument and the nature; The void (interior and exterior) as creator of architecture'.
