We are not entirely sure. Maybe this is the first and last issue. We like to fantasise about it as a future platform for alternative approaches of doing architecture.
When we feel like it. The worst thing is to try to produce something beautiful when you don’t feel like it. If we like it, maybe we will make more, if not, it would be nice to try something new. Turtlan is a project by Cedric Price made in Grožnjan for Shinkenchiku competition for which he won recognition. Where and when the house needs me? It is one of his ingenious proposals reversing the attitude to architecture. Maybe we will do a whole magazine on that topic some other time. It is definitely a by-product of Grožnjan Summer School of Architecture made by a group of people gathered around the organization of the 2024 edition of the Summer School. This year in Grožnjan, a new energy was introduced to the old school. New generation joined with enthusiasm and joy creating a unique atmosphere, a blend of spontaneous and serious. Hopefully this will be a start of opening the discourse on architecture in a very mute context. It seems that Grožnjan allows a different perspective than the usual one. Distances and geography become relative. There is a generation of architects which found themselves in a very specific situation, some of them just starting, others already taking over, but at the same time all of them without a real platform for discussion and critique. Maybe this could be the beginning of something else…
